Civic Engagement

Civic engagement is about contributing positively to the community we live in. It's a way to create a better society and develop responsibility, empathy, and collaboration skills.

For my civic engagement, I joined an association that organized reforestation events. One of the most impactful actions was reforesting nearly bare fields. Together with others, we planted trees and helped transform open land into what will become thriving green spaces.

It was physically demanding but deeply rewarding. I learned a lot about environmental care, the value of teamwork, and how collective efforts can make a real difference. It also strengthened my understanding of what it means to be an active citizen.

What I understood

Looking back, this civic experience gave me both practical and emotional insights. I better understand the urgency of environmental challenges and the power of even small-scale local action. Working in teams with shared purpose also reinforced soft skills that are crucial in any career: collaboration, persistence, and respect for diverse viewpoints.

Civic engagement isn't just about doing good—it's about growing as a person and as a member of society. I’m proud of what we achieved, and it motivated me to stay involved in environmental and community initiatives in the future.
